South Dorset Lib Dems are claiming victory in their battle with sleaze.
A number of local residents received Labour Party survey leaflets in a mail shot from the House of Commons office of South Dorset Labour M.P. Jim Knight.
Following a series of complaints from the Lib Dems the letters, paid for using public money, now include a re-printed survey from the M.P. himself.
Graham Oakes commented, "Using public funds to promote a political party in this way is a serious breach of the rules which could have resulted in Mr Knight being reported to the Standards Committee."
"However I do not believe he would behave in this way and the leaflets were probably put there by an over zealous member of his staff."
" I am pleased that this sleaze has stopped."
